Blog 1: The 5 Star Review
How to Get 5-Star Reviews (Without Begging)
Let’s be honest. Asking for a review can feel awkward.
You just finished a long day on the job site. The customer is happy, the work is done, and you just want to pack up the truck and head home. Standing there and asking for a favor—even a digital one—feels like you’re being pushy.
But here is the hard truth: If you don’t ask, they won’t write it.
And in 2026, reviews are digital currency. They are the first thing a new customer looks at before they call you. If your competitor has 50 reviews and you have 3, guess who gets the call?
Here is the good news: You don’t have to beg. You just have to time it right.
The “Golden Moment”
The absolute best time to ask for a review is the exact moment the customer sees the finished product.
- When you show them the new patio.
- When the AC kicks back on.
- When you hand them the keys to their fixed car.
That is when they are happiest. The relief is fresh. The gratitude is high.
What to Say (Keep it Simple)
You don’t need a script. Just be human. Try this:
“I’m really glad we could get this fixed up for you. Hey, if you have 30 seconds later, would you mind leaving us a quick review on Google? It really helps a local business like ours.”
That’s it. You aren’t begging; you’re telling them how they can support a local business. Most people want to help—they just need a reminder.
Make it Easy
The easier you make it, the more likely they are to do it.
Don’t make them search for you. Text them the direct link to your Google Business Profile right then and there. (If you don’t know how to get that link, we can handle that for you).
Bottom line: You do the great work. Let your customers do the bragging for you.
